Sad News

Well a little while ago we had a big snowstorm, and when Jim went out to check on the chickens, they had all vanished. There was no sign of them inside their enclosure, and no sign of struggle or anything like that. We felt bad, and wondered what happened to them.

Then the snow melted, and Jim went out to look, and he reported that he saw signs of a struggle all right. "What kind of signs?" I wanted to know. "A couple of legs" he elaborated. Eww! Disembodied chicken legs!

So I am sad that the chickens I've suffered to live for several years despite their lack of giving me either eggs or respect have been viciously eaten by something. Probably late at night, crawling through their door (which has been open for two years without harldly any incident.)

Bright side? I get to have new chicks! I'm thinking not all Rhode Island Reds, they are just too nervous for life at Caitlin & Jim's Green Acre. =)

Natalie, I deposited your check yesterday.

Yay it's Monday!

Oof. :) Well, we had a big snowstorm & I have some pics trapped in my camera to share. Until I get them out, here's a snoozy kitty & (unrelated) the pretty hideous cake that Mike Kenny brought to the superbowl party. The "fries" were poundcake & the cake itself was chocolate.

I'm the King of the World!

OK the king of the foam flip -n- fold thingies.
Hey Caitlin spent oh about FIVE HOURS driving to, waiting for, getting looked at and returning from the spine doctor's today. Nothing definitive but maybe if an experimental SHOT in the spine stops the pain temporarily then I'm a candidate for surgically taking out a little piece of cocxys. Is that the right spelling? The doc says it's very hard to physically pinpoint what causes chronic lower back pain despite knowing what made it start. Great, huh? :)

Franks Giant Dog

Compensating for anything Frank? :)
These are from the Superbowl party. Oh and today I had my butt Xrayed, and I have an appointment at the spine clinic friday to see about this pain in my butt, and I don't mean Natalie. :)
